iPondr’s Holidays Revisited featured Dr. Laura Quiros’ article, “How Inclusive Holidays Strengthen the Workplace.” In this article, she explains how learning and celebrating diverse holidays can bring us closer to our friends, family, and colleagues.

Growing up in a multiracial and biracial home, Dr. Quiros’ family celebrated Three Kings Day, a holiday celebrated in Latin America, yet she remembered not knowing how to talk about this holiday in school. This experience has influenced her to teach her daughters, as well as other students and professionals, the importance of embracing different cultural holidays and historical events.
